Hoping for one more glimpse of the future

It's well documented in these very archives that my relationship with the Browns is love-hate. Call me fair-weather (my fiance does), call me what you will. But rarely have I been as excited about the Browns prospects for the future as I am with Mike Holmgren entrenched in the presidential throne and Colt McCoy as the QB of the future. I don't want to forget to mention Tom Heckert, who is the gear that makes this machine go. The guy drafts nothing but pure football players and "killers" (see Ward, T.J.).

I honestly feel like the Browns will be a playoff team next season. But next season; that's a long ways off. Every Browns season ends with me feeling like I don't have much more time to bleed. I can only imagine how the baby boomers who root for the Browns feel.

I want to see McCoy play this Sunday in Cincinnati. Eric Mangini said today that if he's healthy, he's the guy. I'm keeping my fingers crossed as the week goes on that Colt continues to improve and we get three more Sundays of this kid. Who knows, maybe he can go into the final week with a chance to knock the Steelers from their bye.
