Football the FIFA suspends Nigeria for interference

BERN (Reuters) – the FIFA suspended Monday Nigeria for governmental interference, three months after the decision of Abuja to withdraw the national selection of international competitions during two years.

The International federation of football (FIFA) announced that the suspension took effect as from aujourd' today.

Nigerian president Goodluck Jonathan suspended Super Eagles for two years last on June 30 because of their poor course to the World cup in South Africa, where Nigeria was eliminated with the first turn with two defeats and a tie.

The statutes of the FIFA prohibit any interference of the political power in the businesses of the organizations which are affiliated for him.
