CHIPPED IMAGE

"The consulted experts also announced that a food contamination was at the origin of the business, by taking in particular into account the number of tests (antidopage) undergone by Alberto Contador lasting the Tour de France."

It is likely to seriously chip the image of the Spanish, runner 27 years old, considered as more endowed with its generation after its victories in the Grande Boucle in 2007,2009 and 2010.

"This made it possible to determine the exact moment to which the substance appeared, just as the very small detected quantity, which excludes any other source or required objective."

This revelation on victorious triple of the Tour de France carries however a new blow to the professional cycling, whose authorities endeavoured to restore the image after a multitude of scandals of doping.

Before the runner is not expressed, its agent had already evoked this track.

The first Chinese professional cyclist, Li Fuyu, former fellow-member of Lance Armstrong in the RadioShack team, were suspended in April on a purely provisional basis by the UCI after being controlled positive with this same substance.

One will need "new scientific investigations before being able to draw the conclusions", and these examinations will take time, adds the UCI without more comments.

The representatives of the Spanish team present at the championships of the world, in Geelong in Australia, refused to comment on this revelation. "There is nothing to say for the moment", declared a spokesperson.

"Since then, it was placed between the hands of the authorities of cycling, trustful that this extremely serious problem, now made public, could be solved."

"I will wait until the final analyses before formulating are finished an opinion", known as for its part in an official statement Australian Cadel Evans, which prepares to defend its world title on its grounds.

The concentration of the product was "400 times less large than than the laboratories accredited by the AMA must be able to detect."

FOOD ORIGIN ACCORDING TO CONTADOR

The Spaniard, who gained in July its third Tour de France, was controlled at the time of the second day of rest of the test, and the sample B confirmed the presence of clenbuterol, a prohibited anabolic, said the UCI in an official statement.

Alberto Contador allotted the result of the analysis to a food contamination.

"Being given this very weak concentration and of coordination with the AMA, the UCI at once launched the adequate procedures of management of the results, of which analysis of a sample B, which confirmed the first result."

"It is possible to play with fire without burning itself. If that had been an obvious case of doping, it would have been revealed as of the following week. The food contamination comes from a piece of meat from Spain", it declared with the Spanish radio Cadena Cope.
